We are all very excited to launch Bowling Park TV! Every Friday the TV program will be shown in assembly and then uploaded on the blog. Each episode will feature a piece of good work from each class as well as photos and videos from any school trips or exciting activities in school. Along side Bowling Park TV, we have launched a brand new newsletter which will go out to the family heads and uploaded online. We hope you all enjoy this very exciting new project!
Below are the latest three episodes. Please check the blog each week to watch the latest episode.
The whole school topic has got us feeling festive this week. The classrooms have been decorated and children have been working on some fantastic topic related work. Year 6 have been researching about how different countries and religions around the world celebrate Christmas and year 3 have enjoyed a hot chocolate. We hope the children enjoy the whole school topic.
In November year 6 visited Ghyll Head in the Lake District. They explored and enjoyed all that the Lake District has to offer. They caved, walked, zip-lined and lots more! Here are some photos of the children having an amazing time.
Yesterday year 5 went to see the Soyuz Space Shuttle which was used by Time Peake to return to Earth. Excitingly, Tim Peake re-tweeted Bowling Park Primary School’s tweet regarding the visit!
A huge well done to all children who have been running 1K A Day each morning this week. All children and their families are invited to join in. Every day the children complete 1k a day they will receive a stamp in their very own 1k A Day booklet!
- Come to school every day at 8.30am.
- Run 1k around the playground (6.5 laps at NCS, 9 laps at US)
- Get your record book stamped by a mentor or your teacher.
- Fill a full week with stamps to be rewarded.
- Keep up the good work every week to be healthier and happier!
On Wednesday year 6 attended a stay safe trip at Bradford Bulls. The children learnt:
- how to cross the road safely,
- the dangers of electricity and gas,
- how to approach dogs
- and what to do in case of a fire.
Below is this months Newsletter. We have been impressed with how well children have settled back into the school routine after the summer holidays.
It’s been a good year for Bowling Park Primary School. 2017 gave us a very good Ofsted report (April) that celebrated the excellent learning behaviors and resilience of our children, our best ever results (we are in the top 5% of schools nationally for progress in maths and writing at KS2) and a fantastic article in the Parliamentary Review. If you would like to read our article in the parliamentary Review click here. Please scroll across to pages 34-36 for the Bowling Park article. You can also view the article below.
On Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th July we are holding our annual School Games Day! Children will be competing in 9 events: 3 rowing, 3 jumping and 3 running. The children will be competing for medals and certificates in their classes. Parents are invited to come and cheer on their children. Below is the School Games Day poster detailing the dates and times.
